COMMUNITY SERVICE

Cranes for Care

Cranes for Care is an event where our club meets together to fold cranes and write encouragement notes for hospitalized patients. We send our cranes to the Ronald Reagan UCLA Medical Center to include in their regular care packages to give to their lonely or depressed patients. One of the main visions of our club is to make an impact on our community with origami. With our origami cranes, a symbol of hope and peace, we hope to uplift the spirits of those who receive them and bring a little bit of joy in uncertain times.

Jars of Stars

Jars of Stars is an event done in collaboration with Selene Lam, founder of Jars of Stars for Alcoholics, and Glenn, at the Tarzana Treatment Center in LA. In this event, our club meets together to fold origami “lucky stars” for people going through drug and alcohol rehabilitation. We send our jars to the Tarzana Treatment Center to encourage the people in rehab that they’re doing great and to not give up! We are grateful to be able to have our origami be part of something greater, even if it can just be a little pinch of encouragement to those who need it :)
